Frederick, Md. (June 26, 2024) — Today, Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. (Edgewater) announces that Chris Christianson has been promoted to Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Christianson will lead Edgewater’s initiatives to enhance and mature its corporate security posture and best practices. He will also lead Edgewater’s efforts to envision, develop, and market cutting-edge cyber capabilities and service differentiators, and will serve as the senior cyber advisor to Edgewater’s business development, capture, and delivery teams. 

Christianson brings over 20 years of expertise in cyber and business leadership, encompassing cyber strategy and operations, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), as well as the development and delivery of cyber capabilities and services across both federal and commercial sectors. Previously, he led Edgewater’s delivery of a pivotal cybersecurity operations contract for a major U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) medical research agency. Before joining Edgewater, Christianson served in a variety of senior cyber roles at TikTok, Booz Allen Hamilton, IronNet, U.S. Cyber Command (USCC), National Security Agency (NSA), and the Army Network Warfare Battalion (ANWB).

Christianson holds several industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Project Management Professional (PMP), and was an NSA/USCC certified Digital Network Exploitation Analyst (DNEA) and Target Digital Network Analyst (TDNA) while serving in the Intelligence Community. He is also a graduate of the Army Management Staff College, and holds an M.B.A. from Mount St. Mary’s University and a bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies from American Military University. 

Christianson serves as a mentor to aspiring cyber professionals and is active in supporting organizations that promote diversity and inclusion in the technology industry. Additionally, he is heavily involved with bringing STEM to youth living in rural communities, mentoring For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition (FRC) and Real-World Design Challenge (RWDC) teams.
